Fairfax Pets on Wheels
Pets on Wheels is an all volunteer, 501 c (3) organization, sponsored by the Fairfax Area Agency on Aging, that provides companionship and an improved quality of life to Fairfax area residents of nursing homes and assisted living facilities through regular pet visitation by trained volunteers and their approved pets. FPOW is a recognized United Way agency (#8907) as well as one of the finest small charities in the National Capital Area selected for inclusion in the Catalog for Philanthropy by the Harmon Foundation. FPOW has recently been selected by the American Kennel Club (AKC) as a therapy dog certification program. 2011 is FPOW’s 24th year.
